Dr. David Lowenstein is an Arizona Licensed Chiropractor and Licensed Acupuncturist with a NCCAOM Diplomate in both Acupuncture and Asian Bodywork Therapy from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine  www.nccaom.org. Dr. Lowenstein has over 35 years experience in Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Shiatsu, Manual Medicine and Movement Therapies. 
In his youth, Dr Lowenstein studied Shotokan Karate with Sensei Hidetaka Nishiyama. Karate and other martial arts lead to a formal study of Shiatsu beginning in 1976 where he studied Shiatsu with Sensei Shizuto Masunaga and Sensei Masahiro Oki. He is a graduate of the Ohashi Shiatsu Institute, certified to practice Shiatsu in 1983 by Sensei Wataru Ohashi

In 1989, Dr. Lowenstein received the highest recognition possible in the USA as a Certified Instructor and Practitioner of Shiatsu, registered with the American Organization for the Bodywork Therapies of Asia  www.aobta.org with a lifetime membership status. He is a long time practitioner of Zen Meditation originally as a student of Soen Nakagawa Roshi and then his successor Kyudo Nakagawa Roshi.
Dr. Lowenstein completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Arizona State University, Master of Arts Degree at Ohio State University, Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and then completed his Doctor of Chiropractic education at Cleveland Chiropractic College, Kansas City Missouri, as a recipient of the prestigious Gonstead Scholarship.
New York University awarded Dr. Lowenstein a SEHNAP Fellowship in Manual Medicine and Movement Therapy. He taught classes at New York University in Movement analysis and Manual Medicine and completed post-graduate study at The Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies as a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA)
www.limsonline.org. He completed his internship in Movement Therapy at Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, New York City becoming nationally registered as a Movement Therapist with the American Dance Therapy Association www.adta.org in 1987.

Dr. Lowenstein travelled to China after 30 years in private practice to further his study of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He completed a six month internship in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Tongren Hospital

The Peoples Republic of China Medical Board recognized Dr. Lowenstein’s healthcare skills and eduction and he received an official China Medical license to practice. Dr. Lowenstein was a China licensed Physician at Dong Fang Lian He Hospital and Tian Tan Pu Hua Hospital in Shanghai, China. He later went on to explored China by working in clinics in Beijng, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Wuxi and Shenzhen. Dr. Lowenstein held the position of Director of Rehabilitation at Puhua International Hospital in Beijing, China before returning to the USA. 

Upon his return to the USA, Dr. Lowenstein was recruited to practice at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Then treating our Veterans at the Veterans Administration Hospital specializing in Pain, Rehabilitation and Orthopedic conditions and on staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Banner Gateway Hospital in Gilbert Arizona treating cancer patients.
